Frequently Asked Questions
Questions for Castle Pines Orthodontics
Does my seven year old really need braces?
Early orthodontic treatment doesn’t necessarily involve the application of braces. It does involve dental evaluation to diagnose and treat potential problems before they become severe. This process usually takes 6-18 months. During early treatment, tooth and jaw development is closely monitored and parents are informed what the best future treatment options are. This may or may not mean that we recommend the application of braces in elementary school.
How long do I need to have my braces on?
Depending on the severity of the malocclusion of each patient, you may need braces for as little as 6 months or as long as 2 years. The average range is between 12 and 18 months. During your treatment, you may need to wear accessories such as rubber bands in addition to your braces. Failure by the patient to wear accessories as directed by Dr.Dunbar may prolong your treatment . During your time in braces, you will see Dr. Dunbar every 4-6 weeks for adjustments and to monitor the progress of your treatment.
How much do braces cost?
There is no standard price for braces. The cost for braces is different depending on the condition of the mouth of the person who wears them. Patients who require braces for a longer period of time, means more orthodontist visits and higher subsequent costs.
